Just for kicks

Maybe updating now will help establish a habit before school starts. ;)

I've been off all week (only working for a few hours Wednesday afternoon and then this Saturday) so I've been putting the time to good use... catching up on blogs, cleaning up around the house, running errands, relaxing, etc. (You all know very well that relaxing is a good use of time. ;))

Only 3 days of "vacation" left, then it's back to work for a week and then back to school the week after that. Now that I think about it, I don't think I've updated anybody on my school plans recently. (Or anything else, for that matter.) I'm quite excited, actually, which is saying something because I really dislike school. I think it's the homework. And the fact that I demand absolute scholastic perfection from myself.

I graduated with my A.A. this past spring and was planning to take off through the fall (since I missed a transfer application deadline) and transfer to another university in the spring. Long story short, I'll be going BACK to the community college (this will be my 4th year there - eek) to get my certificate as a sign language interpreter. I took an ASL class in the spring and fell in love - I'd been interested in the language for a long time and finally getting a taste of it ignited a desire to know more. Lord willing I'll transfer to that other university within the year and begin taking classes there towards my bachelors.

I think it shall be super duper awesome.

On another note, today is Anti-Valentines Day!! Jason and I politely refused to celebrate on February 14th, and instead scheduled our V-Day for 6 months later. We contemplated wearing all black but it's too hot. We will be watching Corpse Bride later. ;)

It's too early for this!

Here I am, posting before I run out the door! :D Woohoo! It's a full day of work and then my first on-campus classes and then back to work, but it'll be great because God is good. K bye.

Cookies, and the Reasons We Eat Them

Spanish Version
(As always, corrections are welcome.)

English Version

Well, I don't know where I've been but I realized the other day that there are NOT three weeks of school left like I thought. Only two. Which means I only have one weekend to put together my silly spanish presentation. (In this context, silly means time-consuming and unexciting.)

Tomorrow we have our test over the last chapter of the Spanish textbook so today I finished the online workbook and lab manual. After I submitted the last assignment it took me back to "Ante Todo" - the very first stuff we ever did in Spanish class. Two years ago! Has it really been two years?? I'm pretty amazed with all the stuff we've learned since then but there is so much to learn, still. Immersion time!!

Man, I have had this massive sweet tooth lately. Every night I feel like I could eat 57 cookies - it's really bad. (And I wonder why I have cavities.) But I'm also feeling this sweet tooth for God, which is pretty cool. Especially because a sweet tooth is never satisfied! I love how the more you get of God, the more you want, so I'm hoping this craving will turn into some really good habits. Go get you some spiritual cookies, people!

Dreadfully So

Yes, folks, I have totally lost the will to study. Thankfully, only one of my finals really matters. But this final is tomorrow, so mayhaps I should practice some self-dictatorship? Time to awaken my inner Castro.

A few shout-outs:
Happy 17th Birthday to my li'l sissa, Siara!
Congratulations to Bethany on her new job (bring in the mooooolah).
And many thanks to Liz Jordan, who played a huge role in making last night special.

(Last night was the Point of Grace Winter Wonderland concert. I thought last year was amazing, but somehow they made it even better.)

I'm job-hunting this week, so prayers are appreciated. Our God is faithful. :) Canna gettuh amen?
